Integrated Health & Safety

The importance of health and safety is integral with emergency spill response and environmental services. For this reason, SWAT is equally committed to the health and safety initiatives that protect both its employees and also its client's interests. SWAT has developed and successfully implemented an Integrated Safety Program (ISP), which is tailored to the needs of our company and meets our client's requirements. In addition to a comprehensive ISP, SWAT also complies with both client-specific H & S policies and industries'.

SWAT has an Employers Certificate of Recognition (COR) under the Alberta Labour Partners in Safety Program with ENFORM and has successfully maintained for the past 4 years. SWAT personnel hold valid certifications in HAZWOPER, H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG, Standard First Aid and CPR Training, ATV handling, Boat Handling, On-Scene Spill Commander, Basic Fire Fighting and Ground Disturbance.

SWAT recognizes that additional, specific training and education as per company policy is necessary. SWAT is committed to working with our clients to provide and acquire the training to ensure that SWAT personnel in the Emergency Coordinator Position will be capable of effectively delivering a safe and appropriate response for any project (emergency/nonemergency).

Safety Statistics

SWAT has well-established incident reporting policies and procedures. All safety statistics listed are compiled and reported on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Detailed incident information is reviewed monthly to determine root cause, impact on SWAT's business, and preventative measures. SWAT also participates in the WCB Participation in the Prevention Injury Reduction (PIR).

SWAT maintains a current WCB Clearance and Experience Rating Statement within the appendices of our formal SOQ. The SOQ can be reviewed at request.
